“I longed for normality. Even our own, off-the-wall brand of normality.”

She’s finally got things together. Mimi’s dating a hot guy and has a place in the school’s Gifted Program with her awesome friends. Yes, she still attracts the dead. But there’s only one ghost these days, and he doesn’t seem to have an awful lot to say.

Just when Mimi’s life is looking pretty good for the first time in years, the unthinkable happens ... one of the seven gifted teens is torn from their close-knit group. The unity of their circle shattered, things begin to go terribly wrong. It’s ruining their focus—and with the threat of the Astarion cult growing stronger each day, the gifted seven need all the focus they can muster.

In The Seventh, Mimi found her place in a circle of seven extraordinary teenagers. In The Rift, she must face what happens when the circle of seven is broken.

Let’s get to know Mimi Alston, the lead character in The Rift ~

Name: Mimi Alston
Gender: Female
Age: 16 (nearly 17 now!)
Profession: High school student

Do you have any special skills or training? Uh, just quietly, I can see ghosts. Not all of them. Just a couple. They attach themselves to me. I’m also pretty handy with a paintbrush.

How would you describe yourself? Lucky.

Who is your significant other? Drew Ellery <3

How would he describe you? *blush* he calls me Wicked Mimi. He also says I’m brave but I’m not so sure about that.

Tell us about your family. I have an older brother who is married and lives in Canada. He and his wife have a baby on the way so I’m going to be an aunty soon! Mum says we’re going to go visit when the baby comes. My dad is a total nerd but really sweet. He works at the council depot in the office and he’s one of those people who reads every word of the newspaper, even the letters to the editor. My mum is a homebody. She loves cooking and she’s really good at it. She works part time at the library and volunteers at the toy exchange.

What do you think was left unsettled in your story?  I’m worried about the Astarions.
